What pet owners have said

Six owners describe a visit to the grooming room: how the plan was agreed, how their pet was handled and what happened at collection. Each names the service and the date of the visit.

Juniper is a goldendoodle and I have had mixed results with haircuts before. Marisol asked for a photo of the cut I wanted, pointed out one area that was matted and might need to go shorter, and repeated the plan back before she started. The price at pick-up was the price quoted at drop-off, and Juniper came home looking like the photo.

Bruno is a German shepherd who sheds all year. The front desk was straightforward that the deshedding treatment removes loose undercoat on the day and does not stop shedding, which I appreciated. A remarkable amount of hair came out, Bruno was relaxed when I collected him, and Declan gave me a couple of brushing tips for the weeks in between.

Mochi is a long-haired cat who hates water and had several small mats behind her legs. Priya suggested a waterless clean instead of a bath, took breaks whenever Mochi grew tense, and called me halfway through to say how it was going. Booking on a Wednesday, with no dogs in the building, made a real difference to how calm she was afterwards.

Pepper was twelve weeks old at her first visit. The puppy introduction groom was mostly about getting her used to standing on the table, having her paws handled and hearing the dryer, with a quick bath along the way. Priya told me which parts Pepper found hardest so we could practise at home, and her second visit a month later was noticeably easier.

Biscuit is a thirteen-year-old beagle with stiff hips, so I asked in advance how a bath and tidy would work for him. The desk noted it on his record, and on the day he was bathed standing on a non-slip mat and allowed to lie down between steps. Nobody rushed him, and I was told plainly which lump they had noticed so that I could mention it to our vet.

Olive, our terrier, had let her nails grow long over the winter and hated anyone touching her feet. Tobias explained that the nails would be brought back over a few short visits rather than all at once, to avoid cutting into the quick. Three quick trims later her nails are short, she no longer clicks across the kitchen floor, and she walks in without pulling back.
