Nails are shaped with a glass file to the length and outline agreed at the start, cuticles are softened and gently pushed back rather than cut, and the hands are finished with a light, unscented lotion. The service closes with a base coat, two coats of a chosen regular polish and a top coat, or a clear buff for anyone who prefers bare nails. Regular polish takes roughly an hour to set fully, so the studio suggests allowing a little time before handling bags or keys.

Suits Natural nails of any length. Not suitable over broken skin or a nail that is lifting, sore or discoloured.

The natural nail is shaped and the cuticle area tidied, then a thin gel base, two coats of gel colour and a gel top coat are each cured under an LED lamp. Gel leaves the table fully dry, and on healthy nails it commonly wears for two to three weeks, though wear depends on how the hands are used. Removal of an earlier gel set from this studio is included; removal of product applied elsewhere is quoted when the appointment is arranged.

Time 60 minutes

Suits Natural nails that are not bitten below the fingertip. Not suitable for anyone who has reacted to gel or acrylic products before.

A thicker builder gel is laid over the natural nail and shaped to add support along the stress area, without tips or extensions. It is meant for thin or bendy nails that tend to break before they reach the length their owner wants. Colour or a sheer finish goes on top. Infills are booked as a new structured overlay at the same price, usually every three to four weeks.

Time 75 minutes

Suits Nails that are thin, soft or prone to splitting. The overlay supports the nail while it is worn; it does not change how the nail itself grows.

Freehand art added to a gel manicure or structured overlay booked for the same visit: florals, fine lines, dots, French tips or a simple pattern across all ten nails. A reference photo is welcome. The technician says at the start if a design needs more time than the half hour allows, so that the price is agreed before any painting begins.

Suits Booked alongside a gel manicure or a structured overlay; not offered on its own.

A warm foot soak in a basin that is emptied, scrubbed and disinfected after every client, followed by trimming and shaping of the toenails, cuticle tidying, gentle smoothing of dry skin on the heel with a foot file, and a finish of regular polish or a clear buff. No blades are used on the skin. Open-toed shoes, or the disposable sandals the studio provides, help the polish set on the way home.

Time 50 minutes

Suits Not suitable where there is an open cut, an infection, an ingrown nail or diagnosed reduced sensation in the feet; those need a podiatrist.

Brows are mapped with a pencil to the client's own natural shape, tinted with a semi-permanent dye in a shade shown and agreed first, and tidied with warm wax and tweezers. A patch test at least 48 hours before the first tint is required; it takes five minutes at the front desk and costs nothing.

Suits Not suitable during an eye infection, over irritated skin or after any previous reaction to hair dye.
