One room on Peck Street, one wedding to a date
Marlowe & Vine Events works from a single room above Peck Street, three blocks from the water. The walls are white because a colour scheme is easier to judge against nothing at all.
The office was set up around one working rule: no date is held until the scope, the supplier list, the schedule and the fee are agreed in writing. That rule costs bookings, because it turns an urgent enquiry into a consultation and a wait. It is kept because the alternative is a couple discovering what was never included on the morning of the wedding.
Suppliers are recommended, never resold. No commission is taken from a florist, a caterer, a band or a venue, and every contract is signed between the couple and the supplier directly. A planner who is paid twice has two opinions about which caterer is best, and only one of them belongs to the couple.
Three things the office holds to
-
The estimate is the fee
A published price applies to the published scope. A change in scope is quoted before it is made, never invoiced after it.
-
One wedding to a date
The planner who runs the consultation is the planner who runs the day. A date is not double-booked to fill a diary.
-
A decline is an answer
Work outside the office’s range is declined at the consultation, with a reason. That is a shorter conversation than a disappointing Saturday.
The four steps between an enquiry and the last car
-
Step 1
Enquiry
The contact form or the telephone. A preferred planner can be named; availability is confirmed separately.
-
Step 2
Consultation
No charge, no commitment. Date, guest count, venues and working budget, written up and sent afterwards.
-
Step 3
Proposal and estimate
A fixed fee for the agreed scope, a payment schedule, and a plain list of what stays with the couple.
-
Step 4
The date itself
Run sheet to every supplier, the rehearsal in person, and coordinators on site from the first delivery to the last car.
What this website does
This site publishes the office’s services, prices and hours and carries a contact form. It does not confirm an appointment. The Book action sends the visitor to the office’s configured booking destination, and a date is only ever confirmed by the office directly.
Start with a consultation
It costs nothing, commits nobody, and ends with a written summary of what was discussed and what it would cost.
